Cost of Living in the UAE
Moving to a new country is always a thrilling experience. But before you accept that exciting job offer in the UAE, one question may come up – the cost of living. Don’t worry – we’re here to help with some essential information so you can make the right decision.
The cost of living as in expatriate in the UAE has, historically, been high, with inflation and house prices rising by an average of 2.5% per year*.
That doesn’t put the UAE out of reach, though. Salaries reflect the higher cost of living in this ever-changing and dynamic region. And, just like any other city, it is possible to make the move to the UAE on a budget.
Day to Day Expenses
Despite being a tax-free environment, the cost of rent, bills, food, schooling, and day to day expenses is comparable to any of the major cities around the world. If you are moving from London, the USA or Europe, for example, you won’t notice a big difference in the cost of living in the UAE. That should make the move easier and more affordable.
You will, however, need to consider additional costs such as car hire (until you get your own vehicle), transporting your possessions, agency fees, and rental deposits.
